Delhi rain: Two consecutive days of heavy rainfall have led to widespread waterlogging across several parts of Delhi, disrupting traffic and inundating markets, residential areas and public infrastructure.

One of the worst-hit locations was Janpath Market in Connaught Place, where rainwater entered multiple shops, forcing traders to scramble to protect their merchandise. Visuals from the area showed waterlogged streets and flooded storefronts as residents and shopkeepers grappled with the aftermath of the downpour.

In west Delhi’s Tilak Nagar, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Jarnail Singh was seen in a boat through flooded streets in his constituency, highlighting the severity of the waterlogging situation. Videos of the unusual sight quickly circulated on social media.

Sharing the video, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi chief Saurabh Bharadwaj took a dig at Rekha Gupta government and wrote “Venice Vibes- Special boat services in Delhi due to heavy waterlogging.”

Meanwhile, visuals from Janakpuri West Metro Station also went viral, showing water accumulation in and around the station premises following the heavy rains.

Sadar Bazar, India’s largest wholesale market, was among the areas severely affected. Videos shared online showed large sections of the market submerged under water, disrupting business activity and movement in the bustling commercial hub.
