Varanasi: While taking part in the celebrations in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s parliamentary constituency, BJP state president Pankaj Chaudhary said that Varanasi had surpassed the record of Phulpur, from where India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru contested elections in 1952, 1957 and 1962.“It is a matter of great fortune for all of us that Prime Minister Modi is our leader as well as the Prime Minister of the country. He has completed 4,399 days in office and has become the longest-serving elected PM of India,” Chaudhary said.He stated that PM Modi has worked with the mantra of ‘Nagrik Dev Bhav’ without any discrimination based on geography, religion or caste. He further said that the discrimination faced by women was addressed through various initiatives undertaken by the Prime Minister for women’s empowerment.
