Sant Kabir Nagar district has emerged as one of Uttar Pradesh‘s best-performing districts in public grievance redressal through the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS). The district ranked number 1 in IGRS performance for May 2026 and achieved the top position for the 12th consecutive month, reflecting sustained excellence in grievance disposal.The ranking is based on parameters such as timely disposal of complaints, quality and effectiveness of grievance resolution, citizen satisfaction and departmental accountability and regular monitoring and review by the district administration. Other high-performing districts in recent rankings include Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Rampur, Shravasti, Balrampur, Bareilly, Ambedkar Nagar, and Sonbhadra, which have featured in top positions for efficient grievance disposal. Among the division, Varanasi* has also been recognised for high-quality and timely resolution. Districts compete on metrics such as percentage disposal, timely action, and citizen feedback, driving overall improvement.IGRS, also known as Chief Minister Jan Sunwai Portal in Uttar Pradesh has emerged as one of Uttar Pradesh’s most important e-governance initiatives, enabling citizens to lodge complaints online and ensuring time-bound disposal through continuous monitoring by the Chief Minister’s Office. It has significantly strengthened transparency, accountability, and citizen-centric governance over the past five years.The portal functions as a single-window grievance redressal platform, integrating complaints received through the web portal, mobile app, helpline (1076), e-mail, and district grievance cells. Citizens can register complaints 24×7, track their status online, upload supporting documents, and submit feedback after disposal. Every complaint receives a unique registration number for monitoring.As an acknowledgement of Yogi government’s redressal system and faith in dispensing justice, the Jan Sunwai mobile app has crossed 5 million downloads reflecting the growing adoption of digital grievance redressal across the state. The portal has substantially reduced the need for citizens to make repeated visits to government offices, making grievance redressal more transparent and accessible.It will be pertinent to mention that the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally oversee the functioning of Jan Sunwai portal and review the redressal from time to time.As per the logistics , the complaints filed on IGRS are automatically forwarded to the concerned department and monitored through a digital dashboard. Officers are required to dispose of grievances within prescribed timelines, with delays and poor-quality disposal attracting scrutiny.
