The U.S.–India TRUST Fellowship 2026–27 at IIT Madras is now accepting applications, offering a 12-month research opportunity for post-doctoral scholars and early-career faculty from the United States. The programme focuses on cutting-edge fields such as AI, quantum technologies, semiconductors, biotechnology, defence, energy, and space, supported by comprehensive funding and institutional assistance.

The applications are now open for the U.S.–India TRUST Fellowship 2026–27 at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, marking a focused effort to deepen collaboration in advanced scientific research between India and the United States.The 12-month programme is designed to bring Post-Doctoral Researchers and Early-Career Faculty from leading U.S. institutions to Indian universities, where they will work on high-impact, solution-oriented research in emerging technology domains.

Focus areas locked on frontier technologies

The fellowship places strong emphasis on sectors that are shaping global technological competition. Fellows will be engaged in research spanning Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, Semiconductors, Biotechnology, Defence technologies, Energy systems, and Space science.The intent is not limited to academic exchange. Funding model built for full research immersion

In order to guarantee continuous participation in research, a full support package will be provided to selected fellows. The fellow will be provided with a stipend and a research fund every month.Other forms of support that would be provided include airfare for travelling, accommodation, medical insurance, visa assistance, and logistical support during the period of the fellowship.

Strong institutional and diplomatic support

The fellow will enjoy both institutional and diplomatic support. An informative session is scheduled for June 17, 2026, featuring speakers from multiple sectors. These include Ms Jeanne Briganti, Public Affairs Officer at U.S. Consulate General Chennai, alongside industry and philanthropy figures such as Mrs Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw of Mazumdar-Shaw Philanthropy and Mr S. Gopalakrishnan representing Pratiksha Trust.
