Two dead, farmer loses leg in road accidents

Vadodara: Two persons were killed and another lost a leg in three road accidents in rural parts of Vadodara district, according to FIRs lodged on Friday.In the first accident, Sharada Parmar (59) of Prathampura village in Savli taluka was killed after a dumper knocked her down from behind while she was walking along the Savli–Desar road near a sand plant on Friday evening. The driver fled and police registered a hit-and-run case.Trikam Udesang Padhiyar (61), a farmer from Mujpur village in Padra taluka, lost his right leg below the knee after a truck hit his motorcycle near Mahuvad Chowkdi. Padhiyar was going home after taking a relative to a hospital when the accident occurred. Besides the severed leg, he also suffered a fractured left heel and is being treated at a private hospital in Dabhasa. Police booked the truck driver, Vijaykumar Khichadupal, a resident of UP.Police also registered an FIR in connection with a trailer collision on June 25 near Kural Chowkdi on the Padra–Jambusar road. The trailer, driven by Jay Singh Rajaram Yadav (58), allegedly hit another trailer from behind, leaving Yadav injured. He died at RML Hospital in Delhi on July 5. The FIR was registered on Friday after the complainant, who had initially declined to lodge a complaint, approached police.
