The first visuals of the rooftop where actor-model Twisha Sharma allegedly died by suicide have now surfaced, with India Today TV accessing the scene of crime at her marital home in Bhopal’s Katara Hills area.

The rooftop is the spot where the 33-year-old was allegedly found hanging on May 12, triggering a high-profile investigation that has since snowballed into an alleged dowry death case.

Twisha, a native of Noida, was found dead at her in-laws’ residence under circumstances that remain under scrutiny. While her husband’s family has claimed she was battling drug addiction, Twisha’s parents have strongly rejected the allegation and accused her in-laws of subjecting her to harassment over dowry demands.

Her body is currently kept at the mortuary of AIIMS Bhopal as legal and forensic proceedings continue.

The case saw major developments on Friday after the Madhya Pradesh High Court ordered a second autopsy to be conducted by a specialised team from AIIMS Delhi. The direction came after Twisha’s family raised concerns over the initial postmortem examination and sought an independent forensic review.

On the same day, police also took custody of Twisha’s husband, Samarth Singh, who had allegedly been absconding for more than a week after her death. Singh, arrested in connection with the case, was brought to Bhopal in the early hours of Saturday. Police are expected to seek his custodial remand for further questioning.

Earlier on Friday, the head of the forensic medicine department at AIIMS Delhi confirmed that the institute was prepared to conduct the second autopsy in compliance with the High Court’s order.

According to police sources, Samrath Singh, the lawyer son of former judge and Bhopal Consumer Court chairperson Giribala Singh, was brought to the Katara Hills police station around 2 am. Giribala Singh, who managed to secure an anticipatory bail after Twisha Sharma’s death, is also a co-accused in the case.
