The Triumph Thruxton 400 carries an ex-showroom price of Rs 2,75,335. That’s the number you’ll see in Triumph’s brochure, but it’s not what you’ll actually pay when you walk into a dealership. RTO tax and insurance get added on top of that, and both vary quite a bit from city to city. So we worked out what the Thruxton 400 really costs, on-road, in five major cities:
Delhi
In Delhi, the Thruxton 400 comes to Rs 3,10,681 on-road. RTO tax adds Rs 22,026, and insurance costs Rs 13,320. If you’re financing it, EMIs start from around Rs 8,508 a month. If you live in Delhi, you’ll be able to get the bike for the lowest price as the taxes are much more reasonable there.
Mumbai
Mumbai on-road price is Rs 3,21,695. RTO tax is noticeably higher here at Rs 33,040, while insurance stays at Rs 13,320. EMIs start from about Rs 8,813 a month.
Bengaluru
Bengaluru is easily the most expensive city on this list. The on-road price is Rs 3,43,666. The RTO tax hits Rs 55,011 here, the highest of any city we checked. For perspective, that’s just a bit less than the Hero HF100’s ex-showroom Delhi price!
Insurance stays the same at Rs 13,320, and EMIs start around Rs 9,421 a month.
Kolkata
In Kolkata, the Thruxton 400 costs Rs 3,16,188 on-road. RTO tax comes to Rs 27,533, insurance is Rs 13,320, and EMIs start from roughly Rs 8,646 a month.
Chennai
Chennai’s on-road price is Rs 3,21,695, the same as Mumbai’s. RTO tax here is Rs 33,040, insurance is Rs 13,320, and EMIs start at about Rs 8,813 a month.
So the same motorcycle’s final on-road price can vary purely depending on which city you’re buying it in. RTO tax is a really big change factor you can see here, and it swings by more than Rs 30,000 between Delhi and Bengaluru alone.
