Madikeri: Jammada Preet Appaiah from Kodagu, who has embarked on an adventure with the goal of climbing the highest peaks of the seven continents of the world, has achieved a remarkable feat by reaching the top of Mount Kosciuszko, the highest peak in Australia, on Saturday.She carried the Indian flag and exhibited it atop the peak. Despite the snow and bitter cold, she climbed the peak in traditional Kodava attire.Her adventure is not limited to just climbing Mount Kosciuszko, but is part of an ambitious goal of climbing the highest peaks of the seven continents of the world called the ‘Seven Summits’. As part of this adventure, she has already climbed two major peaks. In 2023, she climbed Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, and in 2024 she successfully climbed Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe.In addition to mountaineering, Jammada Preet Appaiah has won accolades in shooting. She won two gold medals at the 14th Karnataka State Shooting Championship in 2026. She also won gold medals at the Senior Master Women’s 10m air rifle event.
