Honda Activa stayed well clear of the field in June 2026 as electric scooters dominated the biggest year-on-year gains inside the top ten chart

The Activa held on to the top spot in the scooter sales table last month for Honda with 2,18,932 units compared to 1,83,265 units in the corresponding month last year. The scooter registered an increase of 35,667 units and 19 per cent year-on-year growth – maintaining a sizeable advantage over the rest of the field.

The TVS Jupiter occupied second place with 1,36,805 units against 1,07,980 units in June 2025. The Hosur-made scooter added 28,825 units and posted 27 per cent growth as it remained the only other scooter to cross the one lakh unit mark. The fight behind the top two was led by Suzuki Access which secured third position after recording 63,121 units – up from 51,555 units a year ago.

The Access gained 11,566 units and posted 22 per cent growth. Fourth place went to the TVS iQube which emerged as the biggest mover in the entire chart due to its good reception in recent times. Its sales climbed from 14,244 units in June 2025 to 47,331 units this year with a huge increase of 33,087 units. No other scooter in the top ten came close to matching that rate of expansion.

The Bajaj Chetak also enjoyed a strong month by ending June in fifth position with 40,376 units compared to 17,864 units during the same period last year. The electric scooter added 22,512 units and registered 126 per cent growth – putting it among the strongest performers in the market. The TVS Ntorq ranked sixth with 37,762 units against 22,822 units – posting 65 per cent growth as the sporty 125 cc scooter stayed put attracting healthy volumes.

The Ather Rizta occupied the seventh position with 24,742 units – almost doubling its tally from 12,563 units in June 2025. The family electric scooter posted 97 per cent growth and has rapidly established itself as Ather’s best-selling model. The brand will look to add another mass-market scooter soon to further consolidate its sales numbers locally.

The Yamaha Ray followed closely behind in eighth with 22,782 units by improving from 14,274 units last year to register 60 per cent growth. The Suzuki Burgman claimed ninth position after recording 22,454 units against 15,733 units with a 43 per cent growth. The Hero Destini 125 completed the top ten with 22,010 units compared to 20,140 units in June 2025.

The scooter posted 9 per cent growth – the lowest increase among all ten models in the chart. While conventional scooters accounted for the highest dispatch volumes, the electric segment produced the biggest year-on-year gains. The TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and Ather Rizta occupied three of the top seven positions pointing to the notable rise of electric scooters.
