In the list of top 10 two-wheelers in May 2026, Hero Splendor continued to be on top ahead of Honda Activa and its sibling, Shine
The two-wheeler market posted healthy growth in May 2026 as the top ten best-selling models collectively registered 12,68,886 units against 11,76,627 units during the same month last year. The segment added more than 92,000 units year-on-year with a growth rate of 7.84 per cent as commuter motorcycles and family scooters dominated the rankings.
Hero MotoCorp retained complete control at the top courtesy of the Splendor. The commuter motorcycle recorded sales of 3,48,115 units – accounting for 27.43 per cent of the top ten total. Growth stood at 12.17 per cent compared to May 2025 – reaffirming the nameplate’s position as the country’s highest-selling two-wheeler by a substantial margin.
The Honda Activa stayed firmly in second place with 2,28,955 units. The popular scooter added 38,242 units over last year and posted a healthy 20.05 per cent increase. Its sibling, the Honda Shine rounded off the podium with 1,55,441 units. Despite remaining among the top-selling motorcycles in India, the Shine witnessed a marginal decline of 1.79 per cent on a year-on-year basis.

TVS endured a particularly appreciable month as the Jupiter secured fourth position after registering 1,24,767 units. The family scooter delivered one of the highest gains among mainstream products with growth of 27.83 per cent. Meanwhile, Bajaj Pulsar followed closely behind in fifth place with 1,24,270 units while recording a modest increase of 1.73 per cent.
Further down the order, the Suzuki Access maintained sixth position with 75,729 units but volumes remained nearly unchanged compared to last year. The Hero HF Deluxe emerged as the biggest loser among the top ten after sales dropped by a big margin of 38.09 per cent to 66,722 units.

The TVS Apache secured eighth place after posting 53,900 units and growth of 9.78 per cent. TVS’ XL range continued its upward trajectory with 48,569 units and a healthy 30.34 per cent rise. The biggest percentage gain within the top ten came from the TVS iQube – the country’s best-seller in EV space – as it surged 52.64 per cent to 42,192 units.
