A Ukrainian content creator, Sandra On, has shared her thoughts on how different cinema experiences feel in India compared to Europe. She posted a comparison on Instagram where she described Indian theatres as far ahead in comfort and service, especially when it comes to food and facilities inside the cinema.
She said her experience in India felt very different from what she is used to in Europe. According to her, the way cinemas are set up in India makes watching films more comfortable and convenient, especially because viewers can enjoy full meals during the movie instead of just snacks.
She Says Food Service Inside Cinemas Changed Her Experience
Sandra said she was most surprised by how food is handled inside Indian theatres. She explained that viewers can sit in their seats, order food through an app, and get it delivered while the movie is playing.
“Ordering from your seat. This one blew my mind. In India, you can walk straight into the cinema, sit down, and order food through an app while the movie is already playing. They bring it directly to your seat,” Sandra captioned the post.
She also compared it with Europe, where options are more limited. “Okay, this one is not even a competition. In India there is an actual menu. Like a real menu. With real food. So if you are hungry, you can actually eat a meal, not just snacks,” she said.
She Compares Cinema Safety Checks And Entry Process
Sandra also spoke about the security process in Indian cinemas. She said it felt very strict, similar to airport checks, with bag checks and metal detectors before entry.
According to her, this focus on screening stood out compared to Europe, where entry is usually more relaxed.
“In India, you go through a check that feels almost like an airport. Bags, metal detector, the whole thing. No passport stamp though. In Europe, it’s much more relaxed. Probably because it’s just safer overall but still, the contrast is wild,” she also added.

Her post also led to reactions online, with users sharing different opinions. A person joked, “Algorithm is not gonna push this reel.”
Another said: “The food delivery to your seat is a nuisance. I don’t like it, they ruin the movie experience, they keep passing by or whispering to other customers, which gets really annoying.”
A person commented: “Oh my god, yes. Nobody warned me about the intermission halfway through the movie, and I was shocked by it! But it is convenient. Also, the locals said that until quite recently, the national anthem used to play before every screening.”
