The Tecno Pova 8 Pro that we’ve been hearing about for the past few months is now official.
The Tecno Pova 8 Pro is powered by the Dimensity 7400 Ultimate SoC and comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage onboard. The smartphone also has a P1 Graphic Chip under the hood to enhance the gaming experience and enable 144FPS gaming through game frame interpolation. Tecno says the Pova 8 Pro supports 90FPS gameplay in RPG games and 144FPS gameplay in FPS and MOBA games.
On the software side, you get HiOS 16, based on Android 16, and Tecno has promised two Android OS upgrades and three years of security patches for the Pova 8 Pro. We’d have liked to see the smartphone running Android 17 out of the box as it’s already out, but anyway.
Moving on, the Tecno Pova 8 Pro’s software suite also includes Tecno AI and a digital assistant called Ella in addition to the usual slew of AI-powered productivity and photography features.
The Pova 8 Pro is built around a 6.78″ 144Hz HyperLux AMOLED display, protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. The display has 4,500 nits peak brightness, 2,644×1,208-pixel resolution, a 2,800Hz instant touch sampling rate, and support for wet and oily finger touches, meaning the display can be operated even when your fingers are wet or oily.
Around the back, the Pova 8 Pro has another display, called Alive Matrix Display. It sits inside the triangular camera island, uses mini LED technology, and is customizable. The overall design that you see on the smartphone’s rear is called Interstellar Spaceship Design, because it is – you guessed it right – inspired by interstellar spaceships.

Since we are already talking about the Pova 8 Pro’s back, let’s also talk about its rear cameras. The smartphone features a dual-camera setup on the back, comprising a 50MP primary (LYTIA 700C, OIS) and an 8MP ultrawide camera. The selfie camera on the front uses a 13MP sensor.
Fueling the Tecno Pova 8 Pro is a 6,500 mAh battery, which is 1,500 mAh smaller than the Pova 8‘s battery. Charging speed is the same, though – 45W. It also supports all-scenario bypass charging and 10W reverse wired charging.
Other highlights of the Tecno Pova 8 Pro include an in-display fingerprint scanner, a 5,000 mm2 VC cooling system, an IR blaster, NFC, 4D Game Vibration, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos tuning, and Hi-Res Audio (wired and wireless) support. The smartphone also has IP66/68/69/69K ratings, features a One-Tap Button to open apps and perform certain actions quickly, and comes with 256GB of free Cloud Drive storage for three years.
The Tecno Pova 8 Pro comes in Arc White, Graphite Black, and Tundra Green colors with three memory options – 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB.

Tecno also unveiled the Pova 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition, which comes in Tonino Lamborghini Black color and the same memory configurations as the standard model. The differences between the standard model and the Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition are only cosmetic.

Tecno hasn’t revealed the pricing of either version, but we know the standard model is set to debut in India on August 18.
