Tata’s Most Premium Electric SUV Confirmed Launch Timeline

Tata Avinya, the carmaker’s new premium EV sub-brand, is set to debut in the latter half of FY2027 (i.e. between October 2026 – March 2027). The first production-ready Avinya EV is likely to debut at the 2027 Bharat Mobility Global Expo, which will be held from February 4 to 9 in New Delhi. Tata Aviyna lineup is likely to include five models, codenamed P1, P2, P3, P4 and P5.

Platform & Pricing

All Avinya EVs will be based on the Gen 3 skateboard born-electric platform. This architecture is designed to optimise cabin packaging, enable a flat floor layout and futuristic styling. The first model to come under Avinya brand will be the Avinya X coupe-SUV, which was showcased as a concept at the 2025 Auto Expo. It’s estimated to be priced over Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom).

Avinya X Coupe-SUV – What to Expect?

The Avinya X concept looks futuristic with muscular body panels, sharply raked front and rear windscreens and high ground clearance. It features an illuminated ‘T’ logo at the front and rear profile along with two slim horizontal LED DRL strips with Matrix technology for better visibility night time visibility. Gloss black finish on the bumpers further enhances its premium looks. The coupe-SUV sports large dual-tone wheels and a contrasting finish on the C-pillar.

Inside, the concept car features a floating central touchscreen infotainment system similar to the one seen on the Range Rover SUV. It also gets a slim screen band running across width of the dashboard, that serves as the instrument cluster. The Avinya X has a lounge-like 4-seats layout, a dual-tone dashboard with integrated AC vents and sustainable materials throughout.

In terms of features, the electric coupe-SUV is expected to offer an ADAS suite, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, multi-zone auto AC, a wireless phone charger, V2L (vehicle-to-load) and V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) capabilities.

Official powertrain details are yet to be revealed. The Avinya EV is expected to come with a large battery pack and offer a range of over 500km per charge. It will support ultra-fast charging technology.
