Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay is set to move to a new sea-facing office on the 10th floor of Namakkal Kavignar Maligai, located within the Secretariat complex in Chennai.
The Chief Minister will shift from his current office at Fort St George to the adjacent Namakkal Kavignar Maligai, which is being seen as a significant administrative move within the Secretariat premises.
Officials said the new Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) will function from a more spacious office overlooking the sea.
The relocation will also place the Chief Minister directly above the offices of senior bureaucrats, allowing for quicker coordination between the political executive and the administration.
Ahead of the move, the Namakkal Kavignar Maligai building has been given a fresh coat of paint and other preparations have been completed.
Security arrangements have also been strengthened. Visitors to the new CMO will have to undergo stricter security checks at the entrance, while the Chief Minister will continue to use the existing VIP entrance.
The shift is expected to take place shortly after the completion of the final logistical arrangements.
