Kanpur: A sleeper bus carrying 43 passengers from Jaipur to Gorakhpur overturned on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in the Araul area of Kanpur early Thursday after the driver lost control and the bus hit the divider. Six passengers were injured and taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC), Bilhaur, where one was referred to Lala Lajpat Rai (LLR) Hospital in Kanpur in a serious condition.According to police, the driver, Vijay Singh, a resident of Geeta Nagar, Agra, lost control of the speeding bus, which rammed into the divider before overturning. The accident triggered panic among the passengers, with screams echoing inside the bus.On receiving the information, Araul police reached the spot and, with the help of UPEIDA and ambulances, took the injured to CHC Bilhaur. The injured were identified as Anil (30), Shaida Dugga (25), a resident of Andhra Pradesh, Ajay Singh (35) and his four-year-old daughter, Sumitra Devi (62), and Rajan (35), a resident of Ambedkar Nagar.After primary treatment at the CHC, doctors referred Anil to LLR Hospital, Kanpur, in view of his serious condition.
