Gaya: In a significant development towards ensuring healthcare accessibility for the economically weaker section families, six new private hospitals in Gaya have been empanelled under the ambitious Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).A decision to empanel the new hospitals was taken during a review meeting of the district selection committee held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of DM Shashank Shubhankar. The moves aims to ease the burden on govt hospitals by providing free, quality indoor patient care to eligible families directly at corporate and private hospitals up to Rs5 lakh per family every year. The district Ayushman Bharat office had received seven applications under the central healthcare scheme. Following a review, members of the selection committee conducted physical verification of the premises, infrastructure, and staffing strengths of all seven applicants. The committee turned down one application as it failed to comply with the quality benchmarks established by the National Health Authority (NHA) guidelines. “The newly empanelled units have been directed to set up functional Ayushman helpdesks immediately to facilitate smooth patient admissions and seamless cashless processing,” the DM said.
