Patna: Candidates, who appeared for the Bihar Police sub-inspector recruitment examination, have intensified their protest over alleged paper leaks and manipulation in the written test held on May 27 for 1,799 posts.On Monday, hundreds of aspirants marched from Patna College to JP Golambar via Kargil Chowk and Gandhi Maidan, demanding a transparent and time-bound investigation into the allegations. Carrying banners and placards, the protesters accused authorities of ignoring repeated complaints regarding irregularities in the examination process.The candidates said they had approached multiple authorities, including the Economic Offences Unit (EOU), the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), and the Director General of Police (DGP), but had received no response or investigation report. Some protesters also claimed they had written to former chief minister Nitish Kumar seeking intervention.“We submitted applications to the EOU, CMO and DGP, but no report has been shared. Despite repeated complaints, no concrete action has been taken, leaving us with no option but to protest,” said a participant.The demonstrators demanded an impartial probe into the alleged paper leak and exam manipulation, and called for the findings to be made public. They said transparency was essential to restore confidence in the recruitment process and ensure fairness for candidates.According to the aspirants, concerns over the credibility of the examination would persist unless a thorough investigation was conducted and its outcome disclosed.Meanwhile, heavy police deployment was deployed around Gandhi Maidan and JP Golambar to maintain law and order. Senior officers, including those of ASP and SDPO rank, were present at the site. Water cannons and ambulances were stationed as precautionary measures.Krishna Murari Prasad, ASP (Law and Order), said the protest remained peaceful and no arrests were made. “After persuasion, a five-member delegation was sent to the Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission to place their demands. The candidates dispersed peacefully after about half an hour,” he said.
