SGPC to set up Sikh Centre in California

Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) will establish a Sikh Centre in Yuba City, California, US, aiming to connect Sikhs living abroad especially the younger generation with Gurmat, SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami said in a release issued here on Friday.The release said a delegation of the SGPC, led by its president Harjinder Singh Dhami, held a gathering with local Sikh leaders and members of the Punjabi community at the residence of late Didar Singh Bains in Yuba City. The meeting focused on SGPC’s plans and initiatives for Sikh religious propagation activities abroad.Dhami said the Sikh community living overseas has achieved remarkable success through hard work and has made significant contributions to the development of their adopted countries. He said the efforts made by Sikhs abroad to preserve and promote their heritage are highly commendable.
