Gurgaon: Haryana’s decision not to revisit the environmental clearance (EC) granted to a project in Sector 28 has been challenged before National Green Tribunal (NGT).The tribunal has now given Amaltash Residential Welfare Association (ARWA) — which has challenged Haryana govt decision — four weeks to file objections to State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) compliance report. The matter will be heard next on Oct 16.Despite recommendations for a fresh traffic impact assessment, SEIAA had given the EC to Silverglades Infrastructure for its Amaltash Residential Project. The core issue is whether Amaltash Residential Project in the city complied with environmental conditions attached to its EC, particularly in relation to traffic access and environmental safeguards.The tribunal recorded in its order: “The counsel for the applicant — ARWA — seeks four weeks’ time to file objections to this compliance report. Prayer is allowed.” It listed the matter for further hearing on Oct 16.The case relates to implementation of NGT’s earlier orders on the project. During Tuesday’s hearing, SEIAA told the tribunal that it had complied with the directions and filed an affidavit detailing the action taken.According to the affidavit, a three-member committee that inspected the project found that the traffic management plan relied on internal roads passing through neighbouring residential societies.It recommended that a fresh traffic impact assessment be carried out through a govt-approved agency. It also asked for the proposed 18-metre-wide approach road to be rechecked as it narrows near the project.SEIAA, however, said the developer had already submitted a traffic impact assessment prepared by a govt-approved consultant in July 2025.After considering the committee’s report and the developer’s response, the authority decided there was no need to revisit the project’s environmental clearance.
