Ranchi: Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has initiated scrapping of more than 100 unused and condemned vehicles in a bid to improve asset management and free up municipal premises.In a statement, the civic body said, “The move aims to ensure environmentally safe disposal, optimize resource utilization, and enhance overall administrative efficiency across the city.”Following a tender process, four agencies were selected via a lottery system to carry out the dismantling operations. Under the allotted distribution, M/s Pineview Recyclers Pvt. Ltd. will scrap 17 condemned Swaraj Mazda buses, while M/s Bharat Waste Management has been tasked with dismantling 52 Tata Ace vehicles. M/s Grand Global will handle 36 other condemned vehicles, and M/s Asha Traders has been awarded the contract for clearing miscellaneous scrap iron and related materials.RMC officials have instructed all empanelled agencies to complete the work promptly and in strict compliance with safety and environmental guidelines. Municipal authorities confirmed that the entire process will be closely monitored to ensure transparency and compliance with prescribed disposal standards.
