The Ramgopalpet police traced and recovered a bag containing ₹1.2 lakh that was accidentally left behind in an auto-rickshaw.
According to the police, the incident came to light on May 18 after Sai Kumar lodged a complaint stating that he had arrived at the KIMS Hospital in an auto-rickshaw around 2 p.m. In the anxiety surrounding his father’s surgery, he left his bag inside the vehicle which reportedly contained ₹1.2 lakh meant for medical expenses.
Following the complaint, Ramgopalpet police formed a special crime team who examined CCTV footage along the route and successfully identified the registration number of the auto-rickshaw before locating the driver. The driver later arrived at the police station and handed over the bag with the entire cash amount intact.
The auto-rickshaw driver was also felicitated by the police for his honesty.
