The Orissa High Court Friday directed the state government to form a high-level committee, if approached by the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee to supervise the process of inventory of the valuables including jewelleries stored in the Ratna Bhandar (treasure house) of Puri Jagannath Temple.
The SJTMC, headed by Puri royal scion Dibyasingha Deb, looks after the administration and governance of the 12th century shrine. “Such committee be constituted by the government within a period of sixty days from the date when the SJTMC will approach them” the court said.
