A disturbing video allegedly showing a school principal physically assaulting young children inside a classroom has triggered widespread outrage across social media, with many demanding strict action against him. The incident happened at Laxmi Shishu Vatika Play School in Japla, Jharkhand.
In a clip that has gone viral on the internet, the principal was seen lining up several young students, mainly girls, and slapping them one after another inside a classroom. The young children were seen crying and visibly distressed after the alleged assault.
The video was secretly recorded from behind the door of the classroom, where the principal of the play school was seen mercilessly slapping one girl and asking her, “Kaahe likhwayi (Why did you make them write)?” and then asked her to go for a bathroom break.
He then approached another young girl and slapped her as well, asking why she took the help of her elder sister to write something. As a way of punishing the kid, he asked her to go outside the classroom.
“This Isn’t Teacher’s Approach To Children”
Since the video was shared on social media platforms, people have begun expressing concern over the alleged assault on such young kids. Many shared that the children are too young to fully grasp the situation, others criticised the action of the principal, saying that schools must provide a safe, supportive and respectful environment for a child.
“This is absolutely heartbreaking and infuriating. Principal Shashikesh Kashyap of Laxmi Sishu Vatika Play School in Japla, Jharkhand, has NO business being around children. Slapping and terrorising tiny kids is child abuse, plain and simple and it’s ILLEGAL in India,” said one user.
Another person commented, “All play-schools MUST HAVE CCTV cameras and parents must have access to it via their phones. This incident was thankfully captured. But can’t imagine what all happens to the little kids when no one’s watching. This pathetic man should be fried in boiling oil. What a scumbag, pathetic person.”
“How low you have to be in your life to hit kids like that wtf man,” someone else asked.
“He deserved to be thrashed by parents first. This isn’t teacher’s approach to children,” another noted.
Meanwhile, a person urged authorities to take action, saying, “Immediate suspension and a thorough investigation are the bare minimum. A classroom should be a place of learning, not fear. Children are not punching bags for frustrated adults. Requesting urgent action from @EduMinOfIndia @NCPCR_ @JharkhandPolice @DC_Palamu #ProtectChildren.”
