Pension glitches being rectified, says minister

Patna: Social welfare minister Shweta Gupta on Thursday said the appointment of 22,000 anganwadi functionaries would strengthen the implementation of child development programmes, particularly those related to education and nutrition.Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the JD(U)’s ‘jan sunwai’ programme at the party headquarters, Shweta said the cabinet had recently approved the recruitment proposal.She also said monthly social security pensions had been credited to beneficiaries’ accounts. Cases where payments failed due to technical or other errors were being reviewed, and the pending amounts would be transferred after the issues were rectified.
