The Preventive Detention (PD) Act was invoked against a ‘habitual offender’ allegedly involved in nine cases of transport and sale of fake cotton seeds registered at different police stations in Mancherial and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts.

The police identified the accused as Vusa Subba Rao, a native of Giddalur in Andhra Pradesh’s Prakasam district.

He was earlier detained under the PD Act during 2021.

He allegedly ran a fake cotton seed racket through a network of agents, spanning various villages in Mancherial district under the Ramagundam Police Commissionerate limits.
