Delhi Police has busted a Pakistan-backed international terror-crime module allegedly operated by gangster-turned-terrorists Shahzad Bhatti and Ajmal Gujjar and arrested seven key operatives.
According to police, the syndicate was involved in smuggling illegal arms, ammunition and narcotic substances from Pakistan through Punjab into Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR).
During the operation, police recovered five sophisticated semi-automatic pistols, 41 live cartridges, seven mobile phones, incriminating digital evidence and a Scorpio vehicle.
Investigators said the network was being run on the directions of Shahzad Bhatti and Ajmal Gujjar, who are based in Pakistan. The accused allegedly recruited young people through social media by luring them with promises of quick money and a glamorous criminal lifestyle. Recruits were then allegedly used for arms and narcotics trafficking.
