What initially appeared to be a tragic snakebite death has now turned into one of Uttar Pradesh’s most chilling murder investigations.
A social media post describing the case as “Calculated. Cold. Cruel.” has gone viral after police alleged that a 32-year-old school operator in Meerut was murdered in a meticulously planned conspiracy involving sleeping pills, a venomous krait and two snake charmers.
According to reports and police, Atul Kumar Panwar, who ran a school in Hastinapur, was found dead at his rented home in J-Block Colony on Friday morning. Investigators now allege that his wife, Damini, conspired with Tushar, a bus driver employed at Panwar’s school, to stage his murder as a fatal snakebite.
Police said Atul was allegedly given milk mixed with sleeping pills before he went to bed. Once he was unconscious, a highly venomous krait snake was allegedly released onto the bed, where it bit him, leading to his death. Officers claim Tushar enlisted the help of two snake charmers, identified as Sonu and Uday Kumar, who have also been arrested in connection with the case.
A widely shared post on X claimed that Damini allegedly paid her lover ₹15,000 to procure the snake and that it had been starved for three days before the attack. Police have confirmed the arrests and the alleged use of a krait but continue to investigate the full sequence of events and the motive behind the crime.

Internet Calls Case ‘Cold, Cruel’
The case has sparked widespread reactions online. One user wrote, “Wow… I wish she had used this level of intelligence to achieve something meaningful in life and make her parents proud. Send both of them for life imprisonment.”
Another commented, “One snake utilising another snake.” A third quipped, “Times like these make you feel blessed to be single and have a 60+ year old man as your driver!!!”
Others reacted more strongly. One comment read, “The krait is less harmful than the lady.” Another user called for stricter punishments for violent crimes, arguing that harsher penalties are needed to deter future offenders.
Police are continuing their investigation, and further legal proceedings will determine the exact sequence of events and the culpability of those arrested.
