Old Goa group seeks farmhouse nod revoked

Panaji: The Save Old Goa Action Committee on Wednesday challenged TCP minister Vishwajit Rane’s claim that no permission had been granted for three farmhouses near the Chapel of Our Lady of the Mount, producing copies of TCP technical clearances issued in 2024 and valid until 2027.The group urged govt to revoke the approvals, alleging there is no access road to the plots in the Regional Plan and that construction on the hillside violates planning norms. Members also claimed the 12-room “farmhouses” resemble hotels and alleged damage to the chapel compound wall to create access.Residents have submitted a representation to the chief town planner opposing the project.
