Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday reviewed paddy procurement for the ongoing rabi season with MLAs of Sambalpur and Bargarh, focusing on removing bottlenecks in the process.Issues relating to mandi infrastructure, token distribution and timely lifting of paddy by millers were discussed in detail. Majhi said procurement is underway across Odisha and stressed that farmers should not be inconvenienced at any stage. He directed officials to ensure that millers lift paddy without delay.The chief minister asked district collectors to provide all necessary facilities at procurement centres and assured that grievances of farmers would be addressed promptly.Food supplies and consumer welfare minister Krushna Chandra Patra, chief secretary Anu Garg, additional chief secretary to CM Shashwat Mishra and principal secretary Sanjay Singh attended the meeting.MLAs Jayanarayan Mishra (Sambalpur), Ashwini Kumar Sarangi (Bargarh), Nihar Ranjan Mahananda (Attabira) and Sanat Kumar Gartia (Bijepur) were among those present.
