BERHAMPUR: At least six persons were killed and seven others injured after an autorickshaw rammed into a bus from behind at Tadakapall under Purushottampur police limits in Ganjam district on Friday, police said.The injured were admitted to the Community Health Centre at Kodala, with three reported to be in a critical condition.Police said the private bus was on its way to Berhampur when the accident occurred. The impact left the auto-rickshaw badly mangled, leading to multiple fatalities on the spot.Local residents and police personnel rushed to the site, rescued the injured and sent them for treatment.Inspector-in-charge of Purushottampur police station, Kulamani Sethy, and tehsildar Binod Behera were among the officials who reached the spot and supervised the rescue operation.The identities of the deceased had not been ascertained till the filing of this report.
