North Gujarat drenched, more rain expected

Parts of north Gujarat received spells of rain on Wednesday, with Khedbrahma recording the highest rainfall of 83mm in the 12 hours ending at 6pm. Vadgam in Banaskantha recorded 79mm, followed by Vadali in Sabarkantha with 73mm between 6am and 6pm, according to the State Emergency Operation Centre.Several other talukas also received moderate rainfall. Satlasana in Mehsana recorded 64mm, while Dantiwada and Danta in Banaskantha received 53mm each. Vijaynagar in Sabarkantha recorded 51mm, while Poshina in Sabarkantha and Kheralu in Mehsana received 44mm each. Hadad in Banaskantha recorded 42mm.IMD bulletin stated that very heavy rain is very likely at isolated places in the Panchmahal, Dahod and Mahisagar on Thursday. Heavy rain is very likely at isolated places Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Kheda, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Dang and Tapi.
