An Indian woman living in France has shared a video describing her experience of walking home alone at 4:30 am after attending her convocation celebration. The video has gained attention on social media for highlighting her sense of safety and freedom during the late-night walk.
The woman, identified as Shubhangi Vyas, posted the video on Instagram. She explained that her college had organised a party for students after the convocation ceremony. After the event ended, she decided to walk home by herself, even barefoot, in the early hours of the morning.
In the video, Vyas is seen walking through quiet streets while talking about her experience. She said, “Hi, so today was my convocation, and afterwards, my college organised a party for all of us. Right now, it’s 4:30 in the morning, and I’m walking home barefoot. Nobody is bothering me, harassing me, or even questioning why I’m out at this hour. Honestly, where else can we experience this kind of safety and freedom?”
The clip quickly spread across social media platforms, with many users watching and sharing it. The video focused on her personal experience of returning home alone after a late-night celebration without feeling unsafe or uncomfortable.
Since being posted, the video has attracted wide attention online and has become part of a larger conversation about women’s safety and the feeling of personal freedom while travelling or living abroad. The clip continues to be widely viewed and shared across social media platforms.
The video received a mix of reactions from social media users. One user wrote, “That feeling of being super safe wherever and whenever you rome around in Europe, especially in France!!”
Another shared a different experience, commenting, “We lived in a different part of France ig,” suggesting that safety may vary depending on the location.
A third user compared the situation with India, writing, “Vo to sapna reh jayega bhen aisa kabhi nhi hoga India me jabh tak ministers na mar jaye,” expressing frustration over women’s safety in the country.
