Patna: Rejecting opposition allegations of a financial crisis, CM Samrat Choudhary on Monday said that the state govt was financially stable and continuing to deliver welfare benefits without disruption.Addressing NDA legislators ahead of the monsoon session, he said social security funds were being transferred to beneficiaries on schedule and called on alliance leaders to campaign for BJP’s Bankipur bypoll candidate Neeraj Kumar Sinha. He urged NDA legislators to devote at least two hours daily to campaigning for BJP candidate Neeraj Kumar Sinha in the July 30 Bankipur assembly bypoll.Poll strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor is making his electoral debut from the seat, while the RJD has fielded Rekha Gupta. The bypoll was necessitated after BJP national president Nitin Nabin was elected to the Rajya Sabha. It will be the first election under Samrat’s leadership as chief minister.Calling for greater coordination among NDA partners, Samrat said Bihar’s development journey must continue with the support of all alliance constituents. He asked legislators to highlight the development initiatives undertaken in the state under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former CM Nitish Kumar. He also assured them that their grievances would be addressed promptly once brought to his notice.The CM said the govt was focused on strengthening basic amenities and improving educational infrastructure so that students no longer need to leave Bihar to prepare for competitive examinations. He claimed that while the state had 274 degree colleges till 2025, the govt had launched 211 new degree colleges this year alone. He added that teachers at model schools would be required to spend additional time mentoring students preparing for competitive exams.Referring to the ‘Sahyog Shivir’ held on the second and last Tuesday of every month, Samrat reiterated the govt’s zero-tolerance policy towards corruption.Later, the CM chaired a separate meeting of the BJP legislature party at the party office. The meeting focused on strengthening coordination between the govt and the organisation, the party’s strategy in the House, and other political and organisational matters. BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi, ministers, MLAs and senior party functionaries attended the meeting.
