Nissan Motor India is finally ready to introduce its derivative of the new Renault Duster, called the Nissan Tekton. The midsize SUV is set to make its India debut on July 9, 2026, with its launch expected in the following months. After the Terrano and Kicks, this will mark the brand’s third attempt in the highly competitive midsize SUV segment. To differentiate it from the Duster, Nissan will introduce several design elements inspired by the Nissan Patrol SUV.

Design Highlights

The front fascia of the Tekton will look completely different from the Renault Duster. The SUV will feature a wide grille with two chrome strips, LED headlamps with connected LED DRLs and a dual-tone bumper. The sculpted bonnet features ‘TEKTON’ lettering. While the side profile closely resembles the Renault Duster, the new Nissan midsize SUV will come with newly-designed alloy wheels to set it apart.

Nissan Tekton India Launch

At the rear, the SUV will sport a roof-mounted spoiler, connected LED taillamps, tailgate in monotone finish and a dual-tone rear bumper. Dimensionally, the Nissan Tekton is expected to be identical to the Duster, measuring 4,343mm in length, 1,815mm in width and 1,659 – 1,701mm in height. The wheelbase (2,657mm), ground clearance (212mm) and boot space (518-litres) are also likely to remain unchanged.

Interior & Features

The new Nissan Tektone is likely to get a new cabin theme, newly-designed dashboard and new trims and upholstery. However, most features are expected to be carried over from the Renault Duster including a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch TFT instrument cluster, powered and ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, Level 2 ADAS and more.

Turbo Petrol & Hybrid Powertrain Options

Under the hood, the new Nissan midsize SUV is expected to feature the 1.0L turbo petrol (100bhp/160Nm) and 1.3L turbo petrol (163bhp/280Nm) engines, borrowed from the Renault Duster. Higher trims could be exclusively offered with a 1.8L petrol strong hybrid powertrain at a later stage.
