Lucknow: Deputy chief signal and telecommunication engineer of North Central Railway (NCR), Amit Goyal, was conferred the Institution of Railway Signal Engineers (IRSE) Award 2026 for excellence in safety-critical railway signalling engineering and manufacturing leadership.The award was presented at the International IRSE Conference and Exhibition 2026 held in New Delhi.Goyal was recognised for conceptualising and successfully implementing an innovative project that integrates an AI-powered digital twin with an automated train tracking system and control office application for intelligent railway operations and zero-defect auto charting.The system enables real-time train tracking, automated train charting, digital twin-based visualisation, AI-driven analysis of delays and congestion, and improved operational control with minimal human intervention. It also enhances decision-making during traffic regulation and disaster management.
