The Skoda Kylaq is currently the brand’s top-selling model in India, with over 62,000 units sold so far. Skoda India is now gearing up to expand the Kylaq model lineup with a new sportier variant, scheduled to launch in September 2026. Called the Skoda Kylaq Sportline, the new variant is expected to receive blacked-out treatment similar to the Kushaq Sportline and Slavia Sportline.

Skoda Kylaq Sportline – What We Know So Far
While the specific design details will be revealed closer to its launch, the Kylaq Sportline is expected to feature blacked-out alloy wheels, blacked-out trims, a dual-tone roof with an electric anti-pinch sunroof and smoked taillamps. Black finishes on the ORVMs, door handles and faux skid plates on the front and rear bumpers could further enhance its sporty appearance.
The black treatment will also continue inside the cabin. The Skoda Kylaq Sportline is expected to feature an all-black cabin theme with black aluminium pedals. The overall interior layout and feature list are expected to remain unchanged.
Under the hood, the Kylaq Sportline will house the same 1.0L, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine paired with both manual and automatic gearbox options. This engine produces a maximum power of 115bhp and 178Nm of torque.
1.5L TSI Engine Under Consideration
Speaking to Autocar, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director at Skoda Auto India, revealed that the Skoda Kylaq 1.5L TSI version is under consideration as there appears to be strong customer interest. However, the final decision will depend on its business viability and investment justification. For reference, the Skoda Kushaq is available with the 1.5L, four-cylinder TSI engine that generates a maximum power of 150bhp and 178Nm of torque.
CNG & 8-Speed AT Gearbox
Skoda might also update the Kylaq SUV lineup with the introduction of an 8-speed automatic gearbox and a CNG version. If approved, the CNG kit could be available on a dealer-level retrofit kit option. It could be exclusively offered with the manual gearbox. The Kylaq CNG is expected to offer a fuel efficiency of around 25km/kg or 30km/kg.
