Mohan Yadav highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s response to examination irregularities, saying the state was among the first to establish fast-track courts to handle paper leak cases.
The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister also accused the Opposition, particularly the Congress, of turning the issue into a political debate instead of supporting measures taken to address the problem.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday said the BJP-led central government acted swiftly to address the issue of paper leaks, while accusing the Opposition of attempting to politicise the matter.
Speaking at the News18 Diamond States Summit, Yadav highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s response to examination irregularities, saying the state was among the first to establish fast-track courts to handle paper leak cases.
Commenting on recent students protests against alleged NEET-UG irregularities, Yadav said India’s large youth population makes ensuring fairness in competitive examinations a key priority for both the state and the Centre.
“India is the youngest country in the world, and Madhya Pradesh is also among the youngest states. When our youth appear for examinations or competitive tests, they expect a fair opportunity to succeed through hard work,” Yadav said.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for setting up fast-track courts for paper leak cases, Yadav said Madhya Pradesh acted immediately after the announcement.
“The announcement was made one day, and the very next morning we issued the order. By evening, the courts were established, the High Court Chief Justice gave approval, and judges were appointed,” he said.
Yadav added that fast-track courts were set up in four major cities — Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior and Jabalpur — to send a strong message that cases related to examination fraud require quick action.
“We wanted to assure the youth that the government is serious about protecting their future and rebuilding their confidence,” he said.
The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister also accused the Opposition, particularly the Congress, of turning the issue into a political debate instead of supporting measures taken to address the problem.
“The Opposition tried to politicise the issue. They neither discussed it meaningfully in Parliament nor appreciated the solutions being implemented. The Congress created one spectacle after another. I believe young voters will not forgive them,” Yadav said.
