Kanpur: A two-year-old boy was allegedly locked inside a classroom at an anganwadi centre on Thursday morning and remained inside for nearly 30 minutes before being rescued.The incident took place in Gutasi village under the Barhpur development block in Farrukhabad.As per information, the child allegedly fell asleep under a table, due to which a helper at the centre assumed the classroom was empty and locked the door.Anganwadi worker Mamta Singh said she arrived at the centre at around 11 am and heard a child crying inside the classroom. She said she immediately opened the door and brought the child out.Taking cognisance of the incident, CDPO Sunil Kumar Shrivastava has issued a notice to the anganwadi worker.“It’s a case of negligence, and action will be taken against both, including termination of their services,” he said.
