Belagavi: To mark India’s 80th Independence Day, the Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO), Belagavi chapter, in association with the Food Safety and Drugs Administration (FDA), will organise a mega blood donation camp at Mahaveer Bhavan, Hindwadi, on Aug 15. The camp will be held from 8am to 3pm. Addressing reporters, JITO chairman Harshavardhan Inchal said the initiative aims to celebrate Independence Day through social service and support patients in need of blood. Over the past five years, JITO Belagavi has organised six mega blood donation camps, contributing significantly to local blood requirements. Several organisations, industries, associations and NGOs have extended support to the initiative. JITO member Vikram Jain said KLE Blood Bank, BIMS Blood Bank, Mahaveer Blood Bank and Belagavi Blood Bank will participate in the drive. As an incentive, The New India Assurance Company Ltd will provide each donor with a personal accident insurance cover of Rs 1 lakh, valid for one year.
