BAGALKOT: More than 5 kg of MDMA, valued at Rs 5.20 crore, was seized and two persons were arrested in a major anti-drug operation.The accused were intercepted on Wednesday at Royal Inn Lodge on the National Highway in Hunagund, Bagalkot district, while allegedly transporting the narcotics from Delhi to Bengaluru, news agency PTI reported.According to police, the operation was launched following the arrest of a man identified as Annappa Swami on June 25.During a raid at a house within the Surathkal police station limits, CCBI police recovered 15.17 grams of MDMA from his possession.His interrogation subsequently led investigators to the alleged suppliers, resulting in the latest arrests.Police also seized bags and mobile phones from the accused.Preliminary investigation revealed that the duo was allegedly supplying MDMA in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and parts of Kerala, police said.(With agency inputs)
