Varanasi: The body of a 36-year-old tailor was recovered from Ramgarh Tal lake in Gorakhpur’s Cantt area on Saturday morning, police said.As the deceased could not be identified immediately, the body was sent to the district hospital mortuary for preservation.A few hours later, a woman arrived at the Cantt police station to report her husband missing. Police took her to the mortuary, where she identified the deceased as her husband.According to police, the victim, a resident of Mohaddipur, lived with his wife and their two sons, aged 12 and 10.He worked as a tailor and operated a sewing unit from a room in his house.The woman told police that she had a minor argument with her husband on Thursday evening, following which he left home in anger and did not return.His mobile phone had remained switched off since then, and family members had been searching for him at relatives’ houses and other possible locations.The wife alleged that her brother-in-law could be involved in her husband’s death, though no evidence has been found so far.SHO Sanjay Singh said the body appeared to be around two days old and bore no visible injury marks.The exact cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem examination, police said.
