Mandya: Mandya zilla panchayat chief executive officer KR Nandini on Wednesday directed officials of the school education department to expedite the completion of school buildings and infrastructure projects sanctioned under various govt schemes, including the CM’s special grant, PM SHRI, and the special development plan (SDP).Chairing a progress review meeting, the CEO instructed officials to ensure that all pending works approved since the 2020–21 academic year are completed without further delay. She also directed the department to initiate action, as per rules, against implementing agencies responsible for prolonged delays in executing the projects.Nandini instructed block education officers (BEOs) to closely monitor the progress of infrastructure works in Karnataka Public Schools. Emphasising the need for digital monitoring of attendance, the CEO made it mandatory for all schools to record student attendance through the Nirantara App. Noting that only 86% of students in the district have been registered on the platform so far, she directed officials to complete the registration of the remaining students at the earliest.She also reviewed the implementation of the Kartavya App for monitoring teachers’ attendance. Stating that the district has 5,092 teachers, she instructed all teaching and non-teaching staff to register on the app and mark their attendance daily.The CEO further directed the deputy director of the pre-university education department to inspect the condition of govt PU college buildings across the district and submit a detailed report.Deputy director of the school education department Yogesh, deputy director of the pre-university education department Prasanna Kumar, education officer Chandrakant, BEOs, and other officials of the school education department attended the meeting.
