Kataram: In a tragic incident, a man and his son were electrocuted in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district on Friday morning. The deceased were identified as K Bapu (45) and his son K Manoj (23). The incident took place at Gagaram village in Kataram mandal.The neighbouring farmers, who noticed Bapu and his son Manoj in an unconscious state at their water pump in the agricultural fields, informed their family and local police.Kataram circle inspector E Nagarjuna Rao stated that Bapu and his son Manoj had gone to their agricultural fields to switch on the water motor. While Bapu was diverting water to their fields, he accidentally came into contact with a live electric wire. On noticing this, Manoj rushed to save his father, but he too got electrocuted.The deceased were cultivating paddy on six acres of agricultural land. They had laid electrical wires underground in their fields and connected them to a water motor. As the fields were filled with water, police suspect that the two came into contact with a live electric wire and got electrocuted.A case has been registered, and the bodies were shifted to the Mahadevpur mandal govt hospital for postmortem.
