Bhiwani: A 55-year-old man was killed after being struck by a train near the Haluwas railway crossing on the Bhiwani-Charkhi Dadri rail route in Haryana on Wednesday. The victim died on the spot, prompting Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel to rush to the scene.The body was taken into custody and shifted to the Bhiwani civil hospital for postmortem examination. GRP outpost in-charge Sushil Kumar said the police immediately began an inquiry and questioned local residents to establish the victim’s identity.After extensive efforts, the deceased was identified as Mahender (55), a resident of Peepli Wali Johri near Hanuman Gate in Bhiwani. His family members later reached the hospital.Police said the family’s statements will be recorded before completing the required legal formalities. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the incident. “The body will be handed over to the family after the post-mortem examination is completed,” said the police.
