Man found dead in district hospital waiting area, docs suspect heart attack
The body was spotted around 11.30 pm by a staffer on night rounds

Noida: A 32-year-old man was found dead on the second floor waiting area of the district hospital in Sector 39 on Thursday night. Police said the man may have suffered a heart attack, though the exact cause of death is to be ascertained only after an autopsy, police said.Neeraj Kumar, police said, had visited the hospital earlier in the day for some diagnostics test, which are usually held on the second floor. Some claimed the body was lying on the floor for several hours before a staffer on late-night rounds on the floor noticed it around 11.30 pm.The incident has raised questions over security and surveillance arrangements at the govt hospital that also houses the CMO’s office. “How come no doctor or attendant or anyone inside the hospital premises could see the man in such a state? If emergency services are not available within a govt hospital premises, then what can people expect?” said Vijay Kumar, a patient attendant at the hospital.Police said they were reviewing CCTV footage from the hospital to ascertain if he had walked to the second floor unaccompanied.“The deceased had come to the hospital for treatment. During inquiry with doctors and hospital staff, it emerged he may have died following a heart attack. No external injuries were found on the body. But it has been sent for post-mortem examination,” a senior police officer said, adding that action would be taken based on the post-mortem report. The district hospital OPD caters to at least 2,800 patients daily, , while nearly 100 diagnostic tests are performed.Hospital authorities or CMS did not respond to TOI’s calls for a comment.
