Thane: The body of a man who drowned in Ilthanpada Dam at Digha in Navi Mumbai was recovered on Friday following a multi-agency search and rescue operation, a senior civic official said.The Airoli fire station received an alert about a youth drowning in the dam on Thursday, following which a search and rescue operation was started, Sachin Kadam, Navi Mumbai Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) chief, told PTI.The search operation, which was suspended on Thursday night due to poor visibility, resumed on Friday morning and led to the retrieval of the body from the dam waters at around 3:20 pm, he added.The on-site deployment included one rescue vehicle each from Airoli Fire Brigade and MIDC Fire Brigade and a team from the Thane Disaster Response Force (TDRF), Kadam stated.
