The man revealed that he earns only Rs 20,000 a month from his full-time job that decided to drive bike taxis to earn extra to support his family.

Man Drives Rapido From 6-9 AM, Goes To Office At 10 AM: ‘We Don’t Appreciate Life Enough’
What began as an ordinary bike taxi ride turned into a reminder of the unequal realities faced by certain people. In a post on X, a man named Shikhar recounted an interaction with a rider who repeatedly urged him to hurry. What the driver discussed with him led him to say, “Life humbled me again today.” Their encounter has struck a chord with many, who highlighted the quiet resilience of people struggling to make ends meet.
In the post, Shikhar mentioned that he always prefers to commute to his office via metro, but that day he was running late and decided to book a Rapido instead. The driver arrived in two minutes and called him three times in five minutes, urging him to come down quickly. But because he could not find his house keys, he was late.
“Today Reminded Me How Privileged I Really Am”
Once he hopped on the bike, Shikhar, curious, asked the rider why he was in such a hurry. That’s when he learnt that the driver was not rushing to pick another fare but was racing against time to reach his own office after completing his morning shift as a rider.
The Rapido rider smiled at him and replied, “Office ke liye late ho raha hoon bhaiya (I’m getting late for the office).” Surprised, Shikhar asked why he was driving for Rapido if he already had a full-time job. That’s when he revealed his struggles.
“He started telling me that he earns ₹20k a month from his job, he has a wife, three kids and one of them has had a disability since birth. The child’s medicines and treatment alone cost around ₹10k every month,” he wrote in the post. “I asked him how he manages, he said he drives Rapido from around 6 to 9 in the morning, works his office job from 10 to 6:30, then gets back on the bike and drives again until 10 or 11 at night.”
When he asked how much he sleeps, the rider told him that in the last eight months he has never slept for more than five hours. However, moments later, he said something that Shikhar said will stay with him forever. “Then he said something I will probably never forget. ‘Ab bhagwan ki yeh marzi hai toh yahi sahi (If this is what God has written for me then so be it).’ He said it with a smile,” he mentioned.
Shikhar admitted that the conversation made him rethink the everyday problems he often complains about. “Here I am complaining about deadlines, traffic and small inconveniences and there are people carrying burdens I can’t even imagine… and that too without losing their kindness,” he explained. “Today reminded me how privileged I really am.”

The post quickly went viral, prompting people to count their blessings and praise the rider’s determination and hard work.
“We don’t appreciate our life enough,” said one user.
“The best thing is he is smiling after all the difficulties in life,” noted another.
“Appreciate your life and your ability to beat the challenges and teach this to your kids as well. Next gen needs it!” shared someone else.
A different user commented, “Same. Realised how much I used to whine about petty things and made me a very repulsive person cause of that. We should forever be grateful.”
