Patna: Major General Jitendra Singh, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Jharkhand and Bihar sub area, Danapur cantonment, on Friday inaugurated a new ex-servicemen contributory health scheme (ECHS) polyclinic at North Jaiprakash Nagar in Patna to provide advanced healthcare facilities to ex-servicemen and their dependents in the state.The facility is the 18th ECHS polyclinic in Bihar and has been equipped with modern medical infrastructure to cater to the healthcare needs of retired defence personnel and their families. The facility will provide primary health check-ups and other essential medical services, helping beneficiaries avoid long travel and reducing waiting time at other centres, a senior Danapur sub area officer said.Speaking on the occasion, Major General Singh said the new polyclinic would strengthen healthcare support for the large number of ex-servicemen and their dependents residing across Bihar.He said ECHS polyclinics provide comprehensive services to eligible beneficiaries, including medical consultations, diagnostic facilities and referrals to empanelled hospitals when required.Defence officials and representatives of the ex-servicemen community were present during the inauguration ceremony, an army officer said.
