The Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler pickup truck is finally here. The production-ready version of the lifestyle pickup truck has made its official debut at an event in Mumbai. It was first showcased as the Global Pik Up concept at Mahindra’s annual Independence Day celebration in 2023. The concept was designed at the Mahindra India Design Studio (MIDS) and was based on a “next-generation ladder-frame” chassis. The carmaker has confirmed that the pickup will go on sale in India sometime in 2027.
Design Highlights
Visually, the production-ready Scorpio Lifestyler stays true to the concept. Upfront, it features a hexagonal grille with Mahindra’s Twin Peaks logo, slime LED headlamps with integrated L-shaped LED DRLs and vertically stacked LED fog lamps. Other design highlights include C-shaped taillamps, ‘Mahindra’ lettering on the tailgate and a double-can layout with a long rear load bed.
Interior & Features
Inside the cabin, the Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler pickup features a portrait-style central touchscreen and a digital driver’s display. It also gets a three-spoke steering wheel, a central console with integrated rotary controls for the dual zone climate control and a drive mode selector. In terms of features, the new Mahindra pickup is likely to offer advanced features such as Level 2 autonomous driving, 5G connectivity and semi-automatic parking.
Engine Options & 4WD
While the engine specifications are still under the wraps, the Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler is expected to feature a second-generation all-aluminium mHawk diesel engine paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The pickup will come with a 4WD (four-wheel drive) system and multiple drive modes – Normal, Mud-Rut, Grass-Gravel-Snow and Sand. It will also get a 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol engine in select global markets.
