Prayagraj: A minor girl was allegedlystrangulated to death by her lover in Purab Sharira village under the limits of Paschim Sarira police station of Kaushambi district late on Tuesday night. The accused surrendered before cops at the police station and confessed his crime.Family members told police that their 15-year-old daughter who left home on Tuesday afternoon to work in field, did not return home till late night. In the meantime, when police and family members were searching for girl, the accused arrived at the police station and confessed that he had strangulated the girl by her dupatta. The body of the girl was recovered on his instances.Following this, a joint team of police and forensic experts rushed the spot and collected evidences. Initial police investigations revealed that both the accused and victim were having a love affair. However, the reason behind the killing was yet to be ascertained.
